Treading Projects

I am here and offering you a visual....
Imagine you are in a swimming pool full of unfinished projects that are all individually screaming at you, insisting that they need to be done first. That is my life I am barely treading projects instead of water right now. I could go on and on about the list of to-do's but I will spare you the pain because some of you out there can't risk your blood pressure being elevated and that is the result of reading my to do list. I am offering my friends and family an open invitation at this point to any and all who could b-s their way through drywall patching.....because you see, we have invited 3+ company employees into our home to kindly give us an estimate of the costs of such a repair. The first came out and said,"I will email you the estimate in a few days" ......still waiting for that one (been over a month) the second sent us the estimate but might at well have taped a sticker to my rear that says, "please take advantage of my laziness and don't even think of giving me a bid anywhere within the realm of my yearly income" and the third just plain stood us up last night. So we are at a stand still and I will email pictures of our piss-poor job if we end up having to do this ourselves. PEOPLE THIS COULD BE HURTFUL!!!! And to think this is only one of the many projects to do. So I will apologize in advance to those who think we may have the time or the means for visiting, or serving our fellow man....because the answer, (until the first half of my list is done) will be a kindly not now. Otherwise, I am going to go INSANE. Wow it is very theraputic to type the word insane in all caps...try it sometime. Any way I WANT to go to California and visit my sisters and the newest addition to the Spencer grandkids (coming soon) but the carpets need cleaned. I would love to visit the Mothership, (Idaho) to see the rest of the Idaho clan and more but sadly the trim needs painted and gently reattached to the living room since the tile is finished. I would absolutely love to take that Cruise that I wished for my 10th anniversary, but had to forgo last year due to signing papers on our new home here, BUT......I regrettfully inform all who are reading this blog that the weeds are so tall in the back yard that we broke our weed whacker thrying to cut them down and so I will spend the next half of eternity pulling the suckers out by hand. BOO HOO. THE END

Weekend getaway update

So we just got back today from our weekend getaway courtesy of HP. We left Friday about 11 am and headed through the Rockise to Beautiful Beaver Creek Mountain Resort near Vail, Colorado. We enjoyed Jacuzzi sittin', swimming in the mountain air despite rain sprinkles most of Saturday, A fabulous Swedish massage for Moi! as well as the spa's complete aquatic experience (or something like that) They have a couple different temperature hot tubs to choose from with waterfalls in one and then a rain shower that you can customize by choosing the zones you want to activate, and last but not least a steam room that has fiber optic lights in the ceiling that twinkle like stars. Chad had a hard time pulling himself away from that one. The company had a dinner banquet Saturday night that was to die for. It included mussels in the shell, fillet mignon, with a yummy bernaise sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, halibut in cream sauce, a salmon pate appetizer, and about 5 different types of veggies such as asparagus, thin green bean looking things with a weird name, a broccoli/carrot mix, etc. and to topit off about 4-5 different kinds of dessert : creme brulle' (spelling?), a chocolate mousse rolled concoction, a triple berry tart, and a couple more that I didn't try. We enjoyed watching the open bar crowd and were nicknamed Bubbles for the remainder of the evening because one of the associates husbands asked if he could get us another drink and I said "Sure, OJ with sparking water..." He just stood there dumbstruck. This was wine tasting hour as well as an open bar and we were having OJ with bubbles. So needless to say when he was supplying the crowd with pineapple shots of some sort he would hold the tray out to us and then say, "oh yeah Bubbles..." then move on to the next person. We had a good time. Friday night they had a party outside where they had popcorn, music, drinks, a S'more bar with all the makings and a bon fire. They actually had a chef out there making home made marshmellows and handing out the recipe. Something we plan on trying for FHE one of these weeks. It was nice to get away but I feel overwhelmed with all there is to do around here. Stress is really getting me down lately and I know my physical health is suffering because of it. It is stressful trying to decide how to minimize stress!!! Tanner starts swim lessons this week and so I will swim laps and see if that helps. See I am trying to help myself out here! Wish me luck and peace! Rach

Limbo anyone?

I feel as if my life is in a state of limbo....we don't belong here....we don't yet belong there....If we are going to sell our house, we can't "really live" in it. Where will we stay if it sells quickly?...what will we do if it doesn't?...Do we buy?...Do we (dare I say) Rent until we know it is permanent?....We can't travel (gotta build the nest egg for the moving expenses).....Will they compensate for the relocation?....SEE WHAT I MEAN?

Yesterday I kinda had a meltdown. It all seems too much. The prep of our current home for sale, the HOA breathing down my neck as if doing so will make my grass grow faster and more even, The stress of deciding what can be lived without in the "limbo time" and what must stay, I emailed Chad my "vent-out" then went outside for the most part of the day and pulled weeds till my fingers bled. Today I don't want to do anything.......so laundry it is (all you mom's know what I mean) On days you feel like vegging you can declare laundry day and veg to your heart's content. I am looking forward to this weekend when we will ditch the kids at a friend's house and head up into the Rockies for a little R &R. Chad's job presented him with a weekend getaway at Beaver Creek Mountain Resort, A 5 star resort where we will enjoy fine dining, spa package, and optional golfing or horseback riding...etc. So I will shut my door and all the things that NEED to be done and enjoy putting off the inevitable for yet another weekend. As you can see my feelings are mixed. Anyway, things will be fine once I get back from the insane assylum which I will end up in at some point before we're settled again.
For the record,.....all those who assisted me in the move to Colorado from Idaho, THANK YOU. I am on my own this time around. I am in a ward full of wonderful people who have moved a zillion times but have had the benefit of living life as normal until moving day when a truck shows up and a team of professionals get out and box up the entire house in one day for them. So noone here even knows what I am going through, nor can commisserate with my self inflicted fate. So I suffer alone. Wha-Wha-Wha (Debbie Downer-SNL skit you gotta see)
I sign off for now until I feel like I need to vent again. Rachel
